RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS

RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS

We Made an award-winning Feature Documentary Film

In another post we used the knowledge panel for our From Stormcrow Pictures Documentary film RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS. This film was originally released in 2005 by Sony Pictures Entertainment. (See our page for the film here >>> )

This year, during our pandemic lock-down we did a complete re-edit and massive overhaul of the film. We completely restructured the film, redid all of the motion graphics, and most importantly, changed the video resolution from Standard Definition (SD), to High Definition (HD).

This was quite a trick. It was accomplished through a lot of trial and error, and the use of a groundbreaking new AI technology called Topaz Video Enhance AI.

About the film

This film was Directed, Produced and Co-written by Stormcrow Entertainment, LLC & Stormcrow Digital co-owner Carlene Cordova. (That’s me!) The revision of RINGERS, (RINGERS 2.0) was Produced & edited by Stormcrow co-owner John Welch.

With initial distribution from Sony Pictures Entertainment, RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS  is a feature-length documentary that explores how “The Lord of the Rings” has influenced Western popular culture for the past 50 years.  RINGERS  explores the real foundations of Middle-earth; a community of true fans who share a common bond. Moving beyond “cult classic” and over several different generations, the film unearths countless people gathered under the banner of ‘Ringer’ — academics, musicians, movie stars, authors, filmmakers, and a plethora of pop junkies. Celebrity interviewees include; Peter Jackson, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Andy Serkis, John Rhys-Davies, Philippa Boyens, Barrie Osborne, Cliff Broadway, Sala Baker, Clive Barker, Cameron Crowe, David Carradine, Terry Pratchett, Peter S. Beagle, Terry Brooks, Lemmy Kilmister, Geddy Lee, Dr. Jane Chance, Christine Crawshaw, Colin Duriez, Chris Gore, Forrest J. Ackerman, Bill Mumy, Brian Sibley, Colleen Doran, Jill Thompson, and hundreds of Tolkien fans!

We are currently in talks with various entertainment distribution companies for a distribution for the new version of the film in 2021. This co-incides with the 20th anniversary of the initial release of Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” film triology.
